Feb 14

I'll host this Sunday. Japanese theme as promised. I'll probably do a hot pot (shabu shabu) which is pretty darn simple to cook since everyone does their own at the table. Things other people could bring:
- Sake
- Miso soup (I actually have some miso paste so only need tofu and green onions)

Otherwise, don't think we necessarily need any other sides, but if someone wants to venture by all means feel free.

  1. Ok, for some reason I never received any messages about this blog, but I think it is working now.

As for this dinner, I am afraid I'll miss it, made last-minute plans to go to Boston for the long weekend. However, japanese food is one of my favorites so I hope we'll do another round not so long in the future...

Have a great dinner, I'll be there in spirit.

  2. Hm, if Chris hadn't resorted to the conventional method I wouldn't have seen this. So no, I'm afraid the "following" thing is not following me...

But yes to Japanese! Can't wait.

Chris, we live really near Mutual Fish (reputedly a very good seafood store) - could we pick up a fitting contribution?

    Looking forward to it,
    Sandra

  3. Sandra - a little sashimi to start the meal would be great! but long ago i seem to recall mutual fish is closed on sundays so if so don't bother.

  4. Looks like the long weekend knocked out most of us, so we'll re-schedule Japanese for another time. I'm away the next 2 weekends so I'll have to sign up in March.

  5. I think Mutual now does open on Sundays, so sign me up for a sashimi contribution. Looking forward to it, whenever in March we're able to enjoy a Japanese feast. We're available, for starters, on march 7 and 14.
